June is Men's Health Awareness Month

1994, Congress passed a bill declaring the week before Father’s day as Men’s Health Week. To honor the men and families of Wayne County, Wayne County Hospital wants to raise awareness and encourage men to practice healthy life decisions such as exercise, eating healthy, and have regular health screenings.

Wayne Co. Hospital, continues to see numerous COVID Cases and possible COVID symptoms in our ER and Rural Health Clinic, and both areas are extremely busy. As many larger hospitals in other cities are also full, we are encountering delays when transfer of extremely sick patients is required.

Please help us serve our sickest patients first. Due to the increasing demand on all sectors of our health system and the need to maintain resources for the sickest patients, we are asking for those with Non-Emergent needs to be judicious in choosing to come to the ER.

If possible, talk with your doctor first to see if an ER visit is required. As many seek care here and at other area facilities and their ERs, wait times for non-urgent patients may be very lengthy. We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience. We urge vaccinations for those who are eligible, as almost everyone coming in with Severe Covid symptoms are those who are unvaccinated. Remember for, non-urgent needs our Rural Health Clinic is open normal hours.
